RS.Schedules
Version history
RS.Schedules extends working with Revit schedules: it shows hidden columns, replaces the schedule properties window with its own (fields, filter, sorting, formatting, appearance), and populates element parameters using rules—like a combined parameter, but with the result written to an ordinary parameter.
1.3.5 | 15–17.10.2026
The “Hide/Unhide” button in the RS-Systems panel on the “Modify Schedule/Quantities” tab opens the “Hide / Show Columns” window, listing all columns with a “Hidden” checkbox. Toggle with a click, the space bar, or several selected rows at once; “Show All” clears all checkboxes. Changes are applied with OK and can be undone with one Revit “Undo” command. When “Show Hidden” is pressed, the checkbox means “will be hidden when ‘Show Hidden’ is released”.
The “Autofill” button has been renamed “Schedule Expert”.
“Highlighting” under “⚙ Settings”: parameters in every list in the solution use the same coloring as RS.ParamManager—background by parameter kind and text color by data type, using the colors configured in RS.ParamManager. Disabled by default.
Advanced mode in “Filter” and “Sorting/Grouping” is more visible: “ƒx Expression…” appears immediately after “(none)”. A new “Result Parameter and Its Data Type” column lets an expression result be written to a parameter of type Text, Integer, Number, Length, Area, Volume, Angle, or Yes/No. For numeric types, conditions use project units, and sorting is numeric.
The “Formatting” tab now matches the Revit window: “Show Conditional Formatting on Sheets” and the “Multiple Values Indication” section have been added (project settings, “<varies>”, or custom text). The “Conditional Format…” button is visible but not yet available.
“Fields” tab: the “Available Fields” list now has a “Data Type” column; “Include Elements in Links”, “Fill Columns on OK…”, and interception of the Revit button are grouped below the schedule field icons, while the available-fields list extends to the bottom. The “Level Numbering…” button has moved to the rule window, to the right of the part-order arrows.
Fixed: the “Combined Value” rule lost a source part for elements where the parameter was a type parameter rather than an instance parameter (or vice versa), or a shared parameter with a different GUID under the same name. The value is now read as it appears in the schedule, and the status-bar tooltip reports how many elements have an empty part. Text color with “Highlighting” enabled has been fixed.
Appearance matches the other solutions in the product line: fields, lists, and tables are recessed, and buttons are raised. Revit view-tab coloring is now available in this solution too (the entire tab is filled by default; configure it under “⚙ Settings” → “Revit Tabs”); the solution window can be opened from RS.BIMManager.
1.3.5 | 14.10.2026
“Filter” and “Sorting/Grouping” now match Revit: 8 filter conditions and 4 sort levels, with “(none)” first in the field list.
“Advanced Mode” on these tabs lets a condition or sort level be defined by an expression (“ƒx Expression…”, functions LEFT, MID, TEXTBEFORE…). The result is written to an auxiliary text instance parameter that Revit uses for native filtering and sorting. The parameter and its hidden field remain in the model after the expression is removed, and the expression is evaluated for all elements in the category—test on a copy for large models. This mode does not work for elements in linked files.
Level numbering: a “Level Number” source for fill rules and a “Level Numbering…” button (base level is 1, levels above are 2, 3…, and levels below are −1, −2…; there is no zero; temporary levels are excluded using the “Participates” checkbox). In “Automatic” mode, numbers are recalculated when a level is added or deleted, or its elevation or name changes.
The “Fields” tab now shows only fields for the schedule’s category by default (previously, “Levels” and other categories could display hundreds of shared parameters from the model). Fields from related elements—“Project Information”, “From Room”, “To Room”, and linked files—are selected in “Select Available Fields From:”.
Fixed: “Format” and “…” worked only on an already selected row and applied to one row, and formatting could not be set for a parameter missing from some elements. Units set to “Use Project Settings” are no longer appended when the unit symbol is disabled in the project (“985”, rather than “985 mm”). The “Read Only” column is now determined from all elements rather than the first 200: in schedules of nested families, it was previously considered unavailable in its entirety.
1.3.1–1.3.4 | 12–13.10.2026
Updates in one window. During an update check, any plugin in the product line displays a single “RS-Systems Updates” window listing new versions of all installed solutions, including those installed later or for another Revit version: “Update”, “Not Now”, “Skip This Version”, and “Don’t Ask Again” (re-enabled with “Offer Updates for This Solution” in “Settings”). Selected solutions are installed in a single batch after exiting Revit, with one administrator permission prompt. “Settings” → “Updates for All RS-Systems Solutions…” runs a manual check.
Extend the trial period with a code: on the “Trial Extension” tab of the activation window, the plugin displays a request code; in response, you receive an extension code (default +30 days). It works offline; the code is bound to your PC and plugin and can be used once.
Offline activation: a license issued for your PC (an RSLIC1… code or the text of a .rslic file) is applied immediately without contacting the website—convenient for remote and isolated workstations. A code not bound to a PC remains single-use and is redeemed on the website. Fixed: a code pasted with spaces or line breaks (from an email or a remote-desktop clipboard) was rejected by the website as “Malformed activation code”.
Short website codes in the form RS-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX (from an email, your account, or payment made without the plugin) are now accepted on the “Code” tab: case, spaces, and hyphens do not matter. The code is bound to this PC, and the license is downloaded automatically; this kind of code cannot be activated without an internet connection.
The Suite license has been fixed: previously, a purchased suite did not activate any plugin. It now works in every plugin on its list.
Consistent naming: the solution is called rs.<Name> in windows and messages, and RS.RVT.<Name> in “Add or Remove Programs” and in the installer name. The new MSI updates the installed version in place: licenses and the trial period are retained.
1.3.0–1.3.4 | 12–13.10.2026
The “Fields” tab now has icon buttons matching the Revit window: add and remove field, “New Parameter”, parameter from a shared parameter file, “Combine Parameters”, “Edit”, “Up”, and “Down”. Double-clicking a field still opens its fill rule.
“Combine Parameters” matches the Revit window (name and parts with a prefix, suffix, and separator); the new field is created on OK together with the other changes. It works in Revit 2022 and later; Revit 2021 lacks this API, so the button is unavailable.
“Delete Parameter” removes a parameter from the project after confirmation, immediately and in its own transaction; it can be undone with Revit’s “Undo” command. Built-in Revit parameters are not deleted. A Revit calculated field cannot be created through the API; a fill rule with formulas is provided instead.
Fixed: the unit format and part formula applied to only one row even when several were selected. The “Format” window’s result and the formula now apply to all selected parts if the row containing the clicked button is among them; otherwise, they apply only to that row. The result (“applied to parts: N; skipped: M”) appears in the status bar.
1.2.0–1.2.9 | 11–12.10.2026
Revit’s “Schedule/Quantities” button opens the RS.Schedules schedule creation window, followed by a properties window with “Fields”, “Filter”, “Sorting/Grouping”, “Formatting”, and “Appearance” tabs—a functional replacement for the native window. The window does not limit the number of filter conditions or sort levels, and filters are combined using AND. Everything is applied on OK in a single “RS: schedule properties” transaction and can be undone with one Revit action. Interception can be disabled with a checkbox in the window; if another plugin has already taken the command, the Revit window opens. Conditional formatting, line styles, and row height are unavailable in the Revit API, so the native window is still used for them.
The “Format” window matches Revit’s: units, rounding and increment, unit symbol (including “None”), zero suppression, and digit grouping. Formatting is set for a field on the “Formatting” tab and for each rule part. For several selected parts at once, “Use Project Settings” applies to any part with units, while custom units apply only where valid (meters for lengths, but not areas). Previously created rules continue to work as before.
Excel-style formulas for rule parts (Russian or English names): take characters from the left, from the right, or starting at the Nth character; text before and after a character; rounding, substitution, letter case, and trimming spaces. Rounding uses the first number in the text and preserves units: “4.80 m” becomes “4.8 m”. The formula window shows results for the first schedule elements; an invalid formula cannot be saved.
The “Spaces” rule part specifies an exact number of spaces. A separator is no longer added automatically: for old rules, a separator consisting only of spaces is removed when read, so values may be recalculated without extra spaces after the update. Separators containing other characters (“/”, “ / ”) remain.
“Value Example” shows the rule result for a specified number of elements (1 by default, up to 500), with one row per element showing the family, type, and Id. Messages (write results, errors, and what Revit rejected) appear in the status bar rather than in dialogs; if Revit did not accept everything, the window remains open, and the accepted changes have already been written.
If a parameter cannot be populated, the reason is given together with the Id of an example element. Nested shared families have a separate explanation: the nested instance parameter is associated with a parent parameter and is read-only, so the value must be written in the parent family’s schedule; the same value will then appear in the nested family.
1.1.0–1.1.8 | 11.10.2026
The main window matches the “Fields” tab in Revit schedule properties: search, an available-fields filter (instance parameters, type parameters, project information), “Available Fields” and “Scheduled Fields” lists with arrows and “Up/Down”, and “Include Elements in Links”. Field selection and order are applied on OK in a single “RS: schedule fields and rules” transaction; the window asks before closing with unsaved changes.
“Fill…” opens the rule for the selected field. The scheduled-fields list has three columns: “Column”, “Rule” (written as a combined parameter value), and “Rule Type” (automatic, manual, once). An existing custom rule always opens, even if the column cannot currently be written to (it can be edited or deleted, and elements are skipped when writing). A new rule is not created for such a column.
The ▶ button beside a field with a “manual” rule writes values immediately in a single “RS: fill ‘…’ using rule” transaction, which can be undone with one Revit action. A report shows the result (written, already matched, skipped with reasons). The “On OK, Fill Columns Using All Schedule Rules” checkbox also overwrites values according to the other rules—enable it deliberately.
“New Parameter…” matches Revit’s “Parameter Properties” window: project or shared parameter (from a shared parameter file), discipline, data type, group, and type or instance. The parameter is bound to the schedule’s categories and immediately appears in the fields. It is created immediately and remains in the project even after “Cancel”, as in Revit. A project parameter is created as a shared parameter through a temporary file; your shared parameter file is unchanged.
The windows remember their size and position, and the main window can now be made smaller; Tab, arrow keys, and the space bar work in the parts table. The rule-parameter list is divided into “Columns in This Schedule” and “Other Parameters”, supports quick search by typed letters, and distinguishes identically named parameters by kind (shared with the beginning of the GUID, project, or built-in).
1.0.0–1.0.4 | 11.10.2026 — first release
“Show Hidden” on the contextual schedule tab displays all hidden columns, highlighting them in light pink, and hides them again when released. The previous state is stored in the schedule itself, so it is restored exactly even after restarting Revit. Before saving, “Save As”, and synchronization, the displayed columns are hidden automatically so the model is not sent to the central model with an altered appearance.
“Autofill” (later “Fill…”) assembles a column value from element parameters: parts with a prefix, suffix, and separator (as in a combined parameter), instance and type parameters, project information, family and family type names, category, Id, file name, and fixed text. An empty part is skipped entirely. Transformations can be applied to each part and to the final result: remove spaces, change letter case, extract a substring, set units, and set the number of digits. The rule window is modeled on Revit’s “Combine Parameters” window.
The result is written to an instance parameter: an existing column or a new shared parameter bound to the schedule’s categories. Types are checked: text accepts everything, length only accepts a length source, area only accepts an area source, and exactly one parameter is written to a numeric column. Modes: automatically when source values change, manually, or once. Writing uses a single transaction (rolled back with one “Undo”); Revit’s duplicate-mark warnings are not displayed. The result shows what was written, what already matched, and what was skipped (read-only, element owned by another user, or missing parameter).
If the column is a type parameter, the plugin offers to make it an instance parameter (rebinding it with the same group and categories); family and built-in parameters cannot be converted this way, so their elements are skipped. Columns that cannot be written to remain in the list, grayed out with a reason: calculated or combined field, project information, element reference, unsupported data type, or read-only. Availability is determined from the first 200 elements.
Rules are stored in the schedule itself and copied with it; the copy’s rules can be changed independently. A model containing rules also opens without the plugin. Without the plugin, values are not recalculated, but no warnings appear. It works with any schedule containing field columns, except templates, revision schedules, and keynote legends; only “Show Hidden” is available in material takeoffs. The parts table now looks and behaves like a Revit table.
