Licensing system
RS-Systems licensing system: trial period and pay-per-use On first use, the plugin automatically activates a 90-day trial period. This is free and does not require an account. Three options are available after the trial ends:
• Buy a licence for this plugin—it works indefinitely
• Enable pay-per-use billing—1 cent per minute of active use
• Uninstall the plugin With pay-per-use billing, the wallet is shared across the entire RS-Systems product line—one payment provides access to all plugins that support this billing mode. Connect using an XXXX-XXXX code on rs-systems.org; no password is required. Only active usage time is billed: entering data in windows, running commands, and background processing; an idle window is free. Without an internet connection, the plugin will continue working for the remainder of the current paid minute.
1.0.66 | 14–16.10.2026
- Windows follow the shared RS-Systems product-line style in all four themes: no rounded corners, with three-dimensional fields, lists, and tables. Fixed: in the Light theme, accent-button labels (“Apply”, “OK”) were black on blue, and selected-row text did not change color.
- Search as you type in all drop-down lists, including those in mapping-table cells.
- The main window remembers its position as well as its size; if the saved position is not visible (a monitor has been disconnected), the window opens centred over Revit. Theme selection has moved from the bottom row of the window to “Settings”.
- View-tab colouring matches all plugins in the product line: enable it, choose “Fill” or “Stripe”, and set colour by project or file in the “Revit Tabs” section of “Settings”. By default, the entire tab is filled with the colour; the active tab is no brighter than the others—it is marked by a coloured stripe at the top.
- The plugin window can be opened using a command in the RS.BIMManager application, with the same licence check as the ribbon button.
- Usage data: in addition to accumulated working minutes, only an indication that the plugin has been launched is transmitted; computer, user, and file identifiers are still not transmitted.
1.0.63–1.0.66 | 12–14.10.2026
- Updates in one window. During an update check, any plugin in the product line displays a single “RS-Systems Updates” window listing new versions of all installed solutions, including those installed later or for another Revit version: “Update”, “Not Now”, “Skip This Version”, and “Don’t Ask Again” (re-enabled with “Offer Updates for This Solution” in “Settings”). Selected solutions are installed in a single batch after exiting Revit, with one administrator permission prompt. “Settings” → “Updates for All RS-Systems Solutions…” runs a manual check.
- Extend the trial period with a code: on the “Trial Extension” tab of the activation window, the plugin displays a request code; in response, you receive an extension code (default +30 days). It works offline; the code is bound to your PC and plugin and can be used once.
- Offline activation: a licence issued for your PC (an RSLIC1… code or the text of a .rslic file) is applied immediately without contacting the website—convenient for remote and isolated workstations. A code not bound to a PC remains single-use and is redeemed on the website. Fixed: a code pasted with spaces or line breaks (from an email or a remote-desktop clipboard) was rejected by the website as “Malformed activation code”.
- Short website codes in the form RS-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX (from an email, your account, or payment made without the plugin) are now accepted on the “Code” tab: case, spaces, and hyphens do not matter. The code is bound to this PC, and the licence is downloaded automatically; this kind of code cannot be activated without an internet connection.
- The Suite licence has been fixed: previously, a purchased suite did not activate any plugin. It now works in every plugin on its list.
- Consistent naming: the solution is called rs.<Name> in windows and messages, and RS.RVT.<Name> in “Add or Remove Programs” and in the installer name. The new MSI updates the installed version in place: licences and the trial period are retained.
1.0.56 | 09.10.2026
- Usage data has been reduced to a minimum: only a “plugin in use” flag and accumulated working minutes are sent. The installation identifier, versions, licence status and details of your actions in the model are not sent.
1.0.52–1.0.54 | 05–09.10.2026
- Access priority: plugin licence → regional promotion → trial period → pay-per-use. A new plugin runs free for the first 90 days, then billing begins. Pay-per-use works online only: without a connection or with a zero balance, new commands and panels do not start, while already open windows and processing already underway are not interrupted. The balance and “Top Up” button are in the status bar.
- Automatic stair updates (“on save” and “on the fly”) now also check permission to operate: after the trial ends or when the balance is empty, recalculation is deferred until a save for which access is available. Previously, automatic updates continued working after the trial period ended.
- Licence protection has been strengthened: setting the computer clock back no longer extends the trial or license. The plugin reports: “The computer clock has been set back. Set the correct date and time.” Existing trials are not reset. A purchased licence activates automatically in the background after reinstalling Windows or Revit, or after purchasing it on another device.
1.0.45–1.0.50 | 30.09–01.10.2026
- Fixed: small plugin windows no longer stretch across the full screen width and are sized to their contents.
1.0.41–1.0.44 | 28–29.09.2026
- Website updates have been reworked. Checks now distinguish between an up-to-date version, an available update, an unpublished installer and an unavailable website. Downloads run in the background with progress and cancellation. The installer is verified using SHA-256 and starts after Revit closes. “Settings” brings together theme, licensing, updates and build information. Ribbon button placement has been standardised: Params in Manage, Browser in Tools, and MCP in AI.
1.0.30–1.0.38 | 25–26.09.2026
- Updated RS-Systems interface: Manage / Tools / Models / AI panels, compact uniform buttons with short English labels, Revit-style icons for light and dark themes, automatic window placement within the monitor's work area with DPI awareness, and optional Revit view tab colouring by project or file.
1.0.29 | 10.09.2026
- Windows use the application icon. Added F1 context help on the ribbon button; it opens the English product page.
- F1 help is linked to the product page, but the existence of that page is not confirmed in the changelog.
- Translated the update window, messages, status bar, and licence tab into the supported Revit interface languages.
1.0.10 | 12.08.2026
- Added manual update checking with the installed version displayed. The downloaded installer runs after Revit closes; disabled update checking can be re-enabled from the interface.
- Existing settings and user data are migrated automatically.
